Via dei legni

Timber was hauled along roads called vie dei legni [logging roads]. In Casentino there were different routes, the most important being in the forests of Camaldoli and Giogo Secchieta. The use of these roads dates back to the 16th century. Some sections are still used today for clearing trees.
