Itineraries in the park

The Casentino Forest National Park is an ideal place to experience walking in nature, there are: ancient forests, sanctuaries and hermitages full of spirituality, landscapes connected to the world of traditional agricultural activity, hospitality typical of the Tuscan-Romagna mountains, a grid of over 600km of well kept paths and a publishing house curated by the Park authorities. The illustrated recommended routes are about ‘Alte Vie’ (footpaths at high altitude), such as the ‘Sacred Forest path’ and ‘High footpaths of the parks in more than a day’, ‘Circular Walks from Refuge to Refuge in three days’, and ‘Day-long Circular Walks’, and are published in our guide ‘On foot in the Park’ and the educational guides about ‘Nature Paths’ and ‘Paths for All’.

An indispensable instrument for every hiker is the ‘Map of the paths in the park - scale 1:25.000’ [Selca e Parco Editors]. So, happy walking!
