GIARDINI TOSCANI... COLOUR AND GRACE

Casentino is a land of legends, poets and saints, home to monasteries, history and turret-topped hills, a place where the colours are truly magical. This is particularly true of the Giardini Toscani in Casentino, run by Brenda Kennelly, a cultured, sensitive woman, who has lived in different countries around the world, who has chosen the solitary, peaceful woods of Castel Focognano to build her dream: a garden of irises and peonies.

Brenda was born and brought up in California; after graduating from Stanford University, she left the United States and lived in Turkey for a long time; she then went to Rome, where she taught English at the Sapienza University for many years. She then discovered Tuscany and the Casentino valley and decided to spend the rest of her life in Italy.
